SPECIAL PROJECTS BY CHUS BURÉS STUDIO

The Chus Burés Studio often receives commissions. When institutions, businesses or individual clients get in touch with Chus to commission work, Chus never wavers in his pursuit of absolute creativity and rigorously maintains his unique creative personality and originality.  He has designed veritable works of art such as trophies, wine tasting glasses, cutlery and original innovative creations such as the Geocepa which was designed for Bodegas Álvaro Palacios. And of course, such an outpouring of creativity and artistic talent is always well-received.

CUSTODIO, CHUS BURÉS’ TRIBUTE TO CUSTODIO ZAMARRA, 2005

This silver wine tasting glass was designed in 2005 as a tribute to Custodio Zamarra, the legendary sommelier at the Zalacaín restaurant in Madrid.  Burés designed a unique wine tasting glass for the occasion, which looks like a deconstructed diamond and enables both the light and the clarity of the wine to be appreciated.

GEOCEPA, ÁLVARO PALACIOS WINERIES, 2013

Wine specialist Alvaro Palacios owns wineries throughout Spain and channels both his passion for wine and extensive knowledge into producing wine, like an alchemist of yesteryear. Burés therefore designed a geometric, abstract vine for Palacios which would encapsulate both the history of the winery and his passion for wine and he named it Geocepa or Geovine.

CUTLERY, THAI GARDENS RESTAURANTS, 1998

Thai Gardens was one of the first Thai restaurants in Madrid. It is famed for its haute cuisine and its carefully-designed exotic ambiance. Chus Burés was commissioned to design silver cutlery for the restaurant but being well-versed in Thai customs, Chus knew that people in Asia don’t use cutlery but do often hold paintbrushes. Hence he decided to link both cultures and design some items of cutlery with paintbrush-like handles and others with western-style features.
